High Power Laser Therapy

What is laser therapy?

Laser therapy is a procedure that uses focused light to stimulate a process called photobiomodulation, or PBM. During PBM, photons enter the tissue and trigger a biological cascade of events that leads to:

  • increased tissue healing
  • decrease in pain
  • reduction in muscle spasm
  • improved microcirculation to injured tissue.
  • reduced recovery time

This treatment is FDA cleared and provides patients a non-invasive, non-pharmacological alternative for pain relief.

All that is needed is a private area and an electrical outlet.  Most procedures can be completed using the portable chiropractic table or a chair.

The Treatment

Treatment times range from five to fifteen minutes depending on the condition.
Most laser therapy plans of care will involve 6-12 treatments, with more treatment needed for longer standing, chronic conditions.

Laser therapy is cumulative as each visit builds upon the last. The therapeutic goal is to reduce the cause of the pain and this is achieved by assisting the cells to repair.

Laser therapy can be a stand alone therapy or part of a treatment plan utilizing chiropractic manipulation, soft tissue mobilization and stretching and exercise therapy.

In a typical treatment plan, Laser therapy is performed for three days in a row and then every other day.

Laser therapy is not intended to be applied frequently over a long course of care. Chronic conditions such as arthritis may call for maintenance visits but typical cases usually see the use of laser end end after a few weeks.

The fees for laser therapy range from $40 to $70 per treatment depending on the units required ( most conditions respond to one unit)
The mobile fee of $30 is in addition to the cost for the laser treatment.  If multiple individuals are treated at the same location on the same appointment, the $30 fee is applied only once.

Payment options are available to assure care can be given properly without causing an economic burden.
