Neck Complaints

Neck pain is a frequent complaint of patients presenting for care. There are many causes of neck pain which range from acute injuries to chronic conditions. Neck pain can be extremely uncomfortable due to it being difficult to rest your neck.

Discomfort in the neck is called cervicalgia. Neck pain may involve the joints in the spine, soft tissue ( muscles, discs, ligaments, fascia and tendons) and nerves. Pain or numbness that shoot up into the head, arms and hands or down to the shoulder blade suggest a nerve involvement.
