Laser Therapy

 laser therapy elbow

Laser therapy provides a safe, non-invasive, non-narcotic and effective treatment for pain management using a therapeutic laser. Laser therapy has been well documented and is a generally accepted alternative treatment modality for the relief of pain and promotion of tissue repair. The application of light energy to injured tissues promotes an elevation of tissue temperature to safely increase local blood flow, lymphatic drainage and circulation to the treated area. In addition to these therapeutic thermal effects, hemoglobin is increased which results in greater oxygenation of the tissue.  While pain relief is often realized after a few treatments, tissue remodeling is the goal of the therapy. Tissue ( such as nerve, muscle, bone and tendon) is made up of sheets of cells. When the cells are damaged they do not perform properly and as such, neither does the tissue. High power laser therapy restores the function of the cell so that the tissue and organs can perform their tasks.

When combined with complimentary procedures, the cause of the discomfort can be addressed and reduced, thereby decreasing future flare ups and degeneration.

High Power Laser Therapy has made a dramatic difference in the patients who have opted for the procedure with many reporting substantial improvements in as little as five visits.

Five visits is not a magic number. It is not suggested that it will take 5 visits to see any pain relief nor is it meant to suggest that the pain will be resolved within five visits.Photobiostimulation targets the damaged tissue which in most cases is causing the discomfort. Typical treatment plans call for multiple sessions to address the cause of the discomfort as well as reducing the pain.

It has been my experience that patients who undergo the laser procedure report a decrease in pain levels faster than with any other therapy.
